Come for a plant walk and learn about local wild edible and medicinal plants in the Regina area!

While hiking through a natural valley with a spring-fed creek 20km NW of Regina, you will learn:

-
The basics of foraging (wildcrafting)
-
How to identify many local plants and their families
-
How to cook with seasonal, wildcrafted items
-
The medicinal and culinary uses of local plants
-
How to identify common poisonous plants

This workshop will highlight plants/seeds available in the spring, summer and fall. The hike is not strenuous, but does involve walking on uneven ground so sturdy footwear is recommended. If you’re unable to hike through the valley, please contact me and I would love to set up a private tour in a suitable location for you.

***NEW for 2020***
The walk in July will include a feast based on items that we forage that day. This three course meal will let you sample local wild ingredients. Recipes will be available for all items served that day. Feel free to linger that evening for a bonfire, great company and community building!
Exact directions will be sent prior to the event.
If you have any questions, please email Jenine at or call (306) 541-5404.
